Funding guide
How the CPF works and how it is funded
This guide explains how annual CPF credits build up, which certifications can be financed, and how top-up funding can complement the account. It is general information, not personalized legal advice.
Mechanics
Three parts of the funding picture
Each element below affects whether a training project can be financed. Check your own account balance and eligibility before enrolling.
Accrual
Annual personal credits
Eligible workers accrue credits each year under the rules set for the CPF, subject to statutory caps on the total account balance. The exact formula and caps are published in the official sources listed on this page.
Eligibility
Qualifying certifications
Diplomas, certificates and entries on official registers such as the RNCP determine which training can be financed. Verify a listing in the official directory before committing to a course.
Top-ups
Complementary funding
Regional councils, France Travail and some employers can contribute additional funding alongside the CPF. Eligibility and conditions vary by scheme and should be confirmed with the funding body.
